Exercise 5. Panning with different shutter speeds.

To start with I decided to go to the beach and picture the seagulls for this exercise, taking some bread to help attract them. how ever the problem was that after throwing the bread there were so many seagulls that it made it almost impossible to pan on any given bird. So I then decided to focus on the birds at the local nature reserve instead. This allowed me to pan on 1 bird at a time. I found this quite difficult as the birds travel fast and you don't really know how the pictures will turn out. I also had to be careful not to focus on just the body and get the head out of focus, or end up taking the bird at an odd angle.
A lot of the shots would benefit with being cropped.

I like the more abstract effect of photo 1 and 14, but was also pleased with the frozen effect and reflection of the duck landing in the water in picture 15.
